Susan’s Homemade Chili with Beans
Susan’s Homemade Chili with Beans
1 lb dry beans (Kidney, Pinto or White beans) Soak beans overnight, drain liquid, put fresh water over beans, and cook until tender. Drain completely.
1 Bell Pepper seeded and chopped and 1 onion chopped ( or you can buy frozen Bell Pepper and Onion Mix at Save-a- Lot)
1 lb Ground Chuck/Beef Cooked and crumbled. Drain off any fat.
1 can of Stewed Tomatoes or Del Monte’s Chili Tomatoes
1 No. 10 Can of Angela Mia All Purpose Crushed Tomatoes ( Sam’s Club carries this), or 2-3 large cans of Tomato Puree
4 T. Tony Chachere’s The Original Creole Seasoning
1 T. garlic powder or fresh crushed garlic
In a large soup pot, combine the ingredients and let simmer until done. About ½ hour. Make sure to stir every once in a while to keep from sticking to bottom of pan. You can also put everything in a crock pot and slow cook over 4 hours.
Serve with grated cheddar cheese and crackers! Enjoy!
