When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the temple of Dagon and set it by Dagon. And when the people of Ashdod arose early in the morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and set it in its place again. When they arose early the next morning, there was Dagon fallen on its face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. The head of Dagon and both the palms of its hands were broken off on the threshold; only the torso of Dagon was left of it. Therefore, neither the priests of Dagon nor who came into Dagon's house tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod to this day. (1 Samuel 5:2-5)

Dagon was god of Philistines and the idol is combination of human and fish. The name dagon is derived from dag which means fish. The combination of human body and fish represented fertility and to increase the powers of nature and reproduction.

    Dear Susan

This is what we read in the Bible and I believe it to be as true as my life is. However, I have seen such things happening in my life. Two years back there was heavy snow in the mountains of Pakistan. I love to visit this specific place. Now my house there is on the foot of the mountain and above my house some 1000 feet above there is a Church and above that Church is a mosque that is on the hill top. It is a slope and you can now imagine the location how my house, Church and mosque are situtated.

After this heavy snowfall, I went to see if there was any damage to my house. Although I had to dig my house out of snow, and so was Church dug up from the snow and the mosque this is situated on the top of the mountain was completely destroyed. Nothing happened to my house and the Church. It is a miracle, because according to laws of Physics, the snow that rolled down should have destroyed my house and the Church and as the mosque is on the hill top should have not be destroyed but it happened the other way.

I went to Church to thank God and was having tea with the Pastor as I wanted to ask Pastor if he needed any financial help when the Maulvi (muslim priest) came and asked for financial help to rebuild the roof of the mosque. How is that? AMAZING!

Dear Waqar Daniel, what a mighty and powerful testimony of our LORD'S protection I can truly see HIS HAND, covering both the church and your home, from the weight of the snow. Plus, knowing that the LORD was leading you to donate to the church, when the muslim priest, came asking for financial help. We serve a MIGHTY GOD! AMEN!

This testimony reminds me of this scripture:

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

cheers PRAISE THE LORD, for this miracle, that defied gravitational forces! cheers
