Women's Work
Have you ever truly thought about all that a woman does for her family? She provides a safe haven, of rest for them. She decorates her home, provides meals, clothing, etc. Yet, many men, say, "well, that's women's work." Yet, we are often put on the back burner of things we want or need to do. Women's work, has become a connotation of being less than necessary. Yet, women, rear the children. Most of the training up of children, are done by women. We hold a place of honor, according to Proverbs 31.
Five verses I want to focus on are these:
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
In these verses we find a Virtuous Woman, who tends to the needs of her household. She plans and prepares to make sure her household is well fed. She finds ways to increase the value of her family. Her hands are fruitful. May we all be like the Virtuous Woman, and prepare our households, so that no one will find hunger or want.
