    John 12:7-8
KJV 7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. 8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
NSB 7 Jesus therefore replied: Let her alone that she may preserve it for the day of my burial. 8 »You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

7 Jesus was replying to Judas complaining about the cost of the perfume. Jesus was explaining the purpose of this was to anoint His body for burial. Jesus would soon die and they would not get there after His death to do this, He would raise prior to them getting there to do so.

8 Poor people are still here today but Christ is not, what Jesus was saying is that she was showing Him love and devotion and this was something great something they needed to do but instead they were complaining. We as the church have the Spirit which is of Jesus but we do not have Jesus in human form any more.
