At last we can rest assured that spring is here! flower We have some of the bulbs we planted over the winter, now peaking through the soil and soon we will have a fragrant aroma from the flowering plants. Spring time is a time of renewal and rebirth. It is a reminder of how life travels in cycles.

Here are some pictures my hubby caught of a squirrel feeding from our bird feeders:

This is the Tulip bed we just put in this year. You can see the tulips and some wild flowers seedlings, starting to spring up.

flower The flower garden is really doing great! I added 4 new rose buses to the back yard. We found them on clearance, and there was a great savings! They are budding and should be blooming soon. We also were able to get some lillies, and a sunset yellow hibiscus, that should start to bloom next year. Some other things that I have planted, morning glory, and four o'clocks, which are both in the seedling stages. I'll try to post some more pictures of some of the new flowers when they bloom. We have planted so many varieties of perinnials, that I can't keep up with all the names! The sunflowers will be planted over the weekend, I hope. We are planting them along our neighbor's fence line this year. flower

I did a painting of some sunflowers, a few years back. It hung in our bathroom, until a friend of ours saw it. She fell in love with the painting and bought it, as a gift for her sister. I keep telling myself, one of these days, I really need to do another painting of sunflowers. They remind me of the JOY of the LORD! My oldest grandson's remark was, that "they look like the sun". sunny Very Happy

    PRAISE THE LORD! cheers

It certainly feels like Spring is in the air! This morning I saw a robin, and spent some time this afternoon, looking over flowerbeds that need tending to. Aaaah! I opened up the windows and let the fresh breeze cleanout all the old stuffy winter air...I can't wait to get started in our gardens this year! We've purchased some strawberry plants and I intend on having fresh fruit in our garden area. We are also planing on getting a few grapevines and a few other fruit bearing plants to scatter through out our back yard!

Last Saturday, we stopped by one of the local feed stores, and purchased the last of the organic seeds that we will be planting. We purchased speckled butter beans and purple top turnips! YUMMY!

Last Sunday, during Children's Church, I shared with the children, how my mother would take some freshly cut daffodills, and put them in a clear glass of water, and add just a few drops of food coloring to them. The wonderful story she would tell me, followed. She said to watch the daffodills, over several days, and wait to see something that is happening on the inside become evident on the outside. Well, within a few days, the flowers would have a new color added to the petals! She then shared with me that this is how the LORD works on us. HE cleans us from the inside out, and the change becomes evident in our outward appearance and actions. One of the grandmothers, who had brought her granddaughter for the first time, was excited and plans on doing this with her little granddaughter. I love it when we can express the simple TRUTHS of the LORD'S WORD, through every day items. The flower has another application, that I used in that lesson, every Spring the earth springs forth with new life. It is the same with the LORD for us, HE gives us NEW LIFE, through HIM. The flower begins to grow, and soon it blooms. We also GROW in the WORD, and are BLOOMING for HIM. flower AMEN!

Last weekend, we were able to move some rose bushes to the front of out home, and re-do, some of the existing flower beds. Over the winter, we did loose a couple of plants, so they needed to be replaced. We purchased a small dogwood tree, for the front yard, and a peach tree for our backyard. We also planted some azalea bushes, a minature rose bush, and some hyacinthus, on the side of our pourch. I'm still waiting for it to warm up enough to begin our veggie garden. At least I have some seeds planted and germinating in a small green house.

My hubby is also building a Chicken coup and house, so that we can have fresh eggs! This ought to be fun, with my grandson, who is being homeschooled He can learn about chickens, this year! Very Happy
