"...buried on page 147 of the bill is stimulation for prevention of sexually transmitted diseases."

NOTE: Republican bill is approx. $478 Billion "O"'s bill is around $900 Billion! There must be a lot of "Pork Barrel Spending", included in at least one of these bills. notice the difference between the Repulblican bill, and "O"'s bill, is a little over $500 Billion dollars! [/justify]

GOP leaders doubt stimulus bill will pass Senate

    Excerpt:

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said Sunday the massive stimulus bill backed by President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats could go down to defeat if it's not stripped of unnecessary spending and focused more on housing issues and tax cuts.

    Email letter from John McCain:

    Dear McCain Supporter,

Yesterday, the Senate began debate on an economic stimulus package that is intended to get our economy back on track and help Americans who are suffering through these difficult times. Unfortunately, the proposal on the table is big on the giveaways for the special interests and corporate high rollers, yet short on help for ordinary working Americans. I cannot and do not support the package on the table from the Democrats and the Obama Administration. Our country does not need just another spending bill, particularly not one that will load future generations with the burden of massive debt. We need a short term stimulus bill that will directly help people, create jobs, and provide a jolt to our economy.

I believe we need to evaluate every bit of spending in this stimulus proposal with one important criteria - does it really stimulate the economy and help create jobs - if the answer is no, it does not belong in a so-called stimulus package. Furthermore, the stimulus must include significant direct relief to American workers in the form of payroll tax cuts and programs to help homeowners keep their homes. Finally, we need an end game to this stimulus so that when our economy recovers, these spending programs do not remain permanent and saddle our children with a skyrocketing national debt.

I appreciate the discussions President Obama is having with my Republican colleagues, but the time for talking has come to an end and we must now begin some serious negotiation. But as of yet, Republicans have not been given the opportunity to be involved. The House of Representatives passed a stimulus bill without a single Republican supporting it. In the Senate, the Democrat leadership is trying to jam the existing proposal through regardless of reservations from a number of members. With so much at stake, the last thing we need is partisanship driving our attempts to turn the economy around.

I have long been a fighter against wasteful spending in Washington and long an advocate for a balanced budget -- that will never change. I realize we face extraordinary challenges with our economy today, but that is not an excuse for more irresponsibly from Washington. I hope you will join me in saying no to this stimulus package as it currently exists by signing this petition.

    Sincerely,

    John McCain
    Chair, Country First PAC

We the People, need to say NO to this type of spending. We need a Stimulas Package, that isn't crammed full of personal interests and cut the FAT. There is no way, with the amount of money being tied up in this Stimuls Bill, that the USA would even be able to pay down the interest that is tied into this plan. Please join me, and sign this petition:

Obama Warns of 'Catastrophe' Without Stimulus, Seeks Compromise

Obama's "CHANGE" policy, and his "Econimic Stimulus" plans, are inflating by the minute.

President Obama summoned centrist senators to the White House Wednesday afternoon to discuss a plan to cut more than $50 billion in spending from the stimulus bill, which breached the $900 billion barrier in the Senate on Tuesday and appears to be ballooning.

This article is a little TOO REVEALING and SCARY to think about..and it is INCLUDED in "O"'s Economic Stimulus Bill. We the People, need to know these things are being snuck into this BILL!

Ruin Your Health With the Obama Stimulus Plan: Betsy McCaughey

    Excerpt:

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446).

Meltdown 101: Highlights of economic stimulus plan

Q: What are some of the tax breaks in the bill?

A: It includes Obama's signature "Making Work Pay" tax credit for 95 percent of workers, though negotiators agreed to trim the credit to $400 a year instead of $500 — or $800 for married couples, cut from Obama's original proposal of $1,000. It would begin showing up in most workers' paychecks in June as an extra $13 a week in take-home pay, falling to about $8 a week next January.

Less Taxes, More Deductions in Stimulus Bill
Obama Hopes to Sign Bill Into Law on Presidents Day

    Excerpts:

On a smaller scale, a middle class couple can expect to find an additional $26 in their weekly paychecks starting June 1, thanks to a tax cut in the gigantic bill. A single person will see an extra $13 in the paycheck.

One of the biggest breaks will come from changes in the alternative minimum tax, which could mean a $2,300 savings for a family of four. The AMT was originally meant to ensure that the rich paid some taxes, but in time it has come to hit families making as little as $45,000.

There would be an extra $25 a week in unemployment checks for more than 5 million out-of-work Americans and those checks would keep coming through the end of the year. Food stamps would also be increased along with welfare payments.

If there are no congressional surprises and Obama signs the measure into law on Presidents Day, Americans on Social Security and veterans receiving disability and pensions can expect a one-time extra payment of $250 this spring
    .

Is it just me, not seeing anything siginificant in this Economic Stimulus Plan? Does anyone see any LONG TERM help in this Economic Stimulus, for the average American Citizen???? Are we being dupped? scratch

I am glad that I can DEPEND upon GOD, for all my PROVISIONS. IN GOD we TRUST.
