    The royal flag of Nepal removed

    The royal standard of the monarchy in Nepal has been removed from the former Kathmandu palace of deposed King Gyanendra, officials say.

    The move comes after Nepal's new constituent assembly voted late on Wednesday to abolish the monarchy.

    Eviction notice for Nepalese king

    Nepal's government has formally told the deposed monarch to vacate the royal palace within the next two weeks.

    Nepal ex-king 'to go gracefully'

    Nepal's former king, Gyanendra, has agreed to vacate his palace within the next fortnight and live as a commoner, the home minister has said.
