Thomas's Faith
John 14:1-7 KJV)
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Thomas's faith must have had many questions for Thomas. Afterall, he is known for doubting. For him, he had to see to believe. I often feel this way. I wonder if GOD knows my doubts and weaknesses. HE does! But how lovingly, JESUS responds to Thomas! I chose these scriptures, because they answer Thomas's doubts and fears about who this man, JESUS was. Not only that, but JESUS delves into the very being of Thomas, with his responses. GOD knows everything about us, yet chooses to love us anyway. JESUS gave loving responses to Thomas, in all truthfulness. Often, I am told I am too blunt. But I would rather give an honest response, than lie to someone, to make them feel good. We may not carry the same finesse, as JESUS. But we can still lovingly give the honest truth, and hope that others will recieve it well.
On a last note, JESUS is THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE. Just because we have not seen HIM, does not affect that we BELIEVE IN HIM.
