GOD's WORD, Food for the Soul!

I have found that mornings are the best time for me, to spend time with the LORD. Before all the hustle and bustle of busy days. And, I always spend the last moments of my day, praying, before I fall asleep. Years ago, I went to one of my aunts, as I could not sleep at night. Her suggestion, (which works) was to read my Bible at bedtime. She stated that the old slewfoot, would put me to sleep. LOL, because he didn't want me reading GOD's WORD. Well, whether old slewfoot has anything to do with it, I was soon in a deep slumber. My morning devotions, do not come from a book, unless I make a notation about the source. I seek GOD's WORD, and not books about GOD's WORD. Why not go to the direct source? I find that the HOLY SPIRIT leads my devotionals. GOD will give me a word, or phrase, and I seek the scriptures, to develop a devotional. I feel anything that the LORD gives to me, was given freely, and I share it with others, freely. This method, has saved me a lot of money, by not buying tons of books on the subject of GOD. One book is all that I need. GOD'S WORD, covers so many subjects! I have yet, to not find the answers I seek within the pages.

    2 Timothy 2:15-16 (KJV)

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

GOD's WORD is truly food for our souls!
