    Turning a Blind Eye Empty Turning a Blind Eye

    Romans 1:18-32 (KJV) https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+1%3A18-32&version=KJV

    Are we to turn a blind eye, to things happening in the world around us?

    Years ago, my fiance' and my daughter were in a bad accident.  GOD's Mercy allowed me to pass the wreck, but I was not to escape what had happened completely.  I received a phone call within minutes of returning home from a long day at work.  Did I turn a blind eye to the wreck? No, but I did not stop to help.  That in itself haunts me.  But GOD, knew I would have  probably freaked out, knowing who was in the wreck.  Both had been injured.  My daughter, had glass from the rear view mirror, stuck in her forehead.  My fiance' had put his hand over it to stop the bleeding.  It was a horrifying accident.  The drivers of the other vehicle, were underage, and on drugs.  They tried to pull both my daughter and fiance' from the vehicle, then they ran away!  GOD in HIS infinite MERCY, saved both my future husband and daughter that day.  I am forever grateful for the phone call, I recieved, and for the Dr's and Nurses that worked on them both.

    Today, we see news that is often not pleasant to hear.  But do we complacently ignore what is happening?  Sometimes, I think it is an automatic response when trauma is involved.  But sometimes, GOD wants us to see and hear, what is happening, so we can respond!

    JESUS understood our human responses.

    Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

    Are we to fear these things?  I ask, because I see so much fear in many Christians, these days.

    We should always be prepared to face the worst news.  I am yet again reminded, that GOD is our refuge and our strength!

    Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

    2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

    3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

    Personally, I am praying that the LORD will strengthen my resolve to face whatever comes our way, and that I will never turn a blind eye to what is really happening in front of me again.
