John 12:12-13
John 12:12-13 King James Version (KJV)
12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
NSB 12 The next day a great crowd came to the feast. They heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. 13 They took palm branches and met him. They cried out, »Hosanna: Blessed is he who comes in the name of Jehovah, even the King of Israel!« (Psalm 118:26)
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
12 This was during Passover a time that all Jews would have been the people wanted to see Him both His followers and those who hated Him, those who hated Him wanted to kill Him and those who followed perhaps wanted to see what he would do because they did not expect Him to come with Pharisees wanted to kill Him.
13 They were recognizing Him as Christ, the King. They saw Him as coming from the Lord but they did not truly see who He was or why He came. Do we see Him as our King and Ruler and do we see Him as more our God and Savior?
