    John 11:30-31

KJV(i) 30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. 31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.

Rotherham(i) 30 Not yet, however, had Jesus come into the village, but was still in the place where, Martha, met him. 31 The Jews, therefore, who were with her in the house and consoling her, seeing Mary, that quickly she arose and went out, followed her, supposing that she was withdrawing unto the tomb, that she might weep there.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

30 She met Him outside this may have meant she was watching and waiting for Him to come. It was common to meet someone you expected outside the village, it is similar to running up to the car of a loved one returning today. You want to see them right away. She knew He would be coming just not when. We know He will return when need to be ready to get up and go with Him.

31 When Christ calls us we need to be willing to stop what we are doing and go to Him, run to Him. It was not common to get up a run outside during time of mourning; this would have been like someone leaving during a funeral but for the family to do so. The people around us should notice we got up to go to Jesus.
