There is something evil lurking in the background, and has slowly been trying to take GOD out of the equation in the USA. This is just another attempt to quiet CHRISTIANITY in our country. I've seen what this does, through the eyes of a little woman I met years ago, from the Ukraine. She lived to see the Iron Curtain fall, in the USSR, now known simply as Russia. At one point, everyone who had a BIBLE was ordered to give it up and have it destroyed. A few were able to save a page or two and hide it, but being caught, meant loss of life. Yes, their very lives were at stake. They were not allowed to mention GOD, the BIBLE, JESUS or anything else related to the contents of the WORD. In the USSR, religion was taboo. They would take that precious page of the BIBLE, and painstakingly write verses on little scraps of paper, ball it up, and drop them in the streets as trash, for someone else to find and pick up. Or, they would hand the verses over to someone else, in a handshake, who they knew was a CHRISTIAN, just so that person could memorize it. Church services were against the law, even home services. But these daring souls went against the government, and did what the LORD wanted them to do, carry the WORD to others! These people were treated horribly, during those years. They would stand in line all day, just for a loaf of bread. They never really know what they might recieve that day. The living conditions were worse. She lived on an upper floor apartment, with her daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughter's in a two room apartment, with no running water or plumbing of any kind. Sometimes there were mroe than one family using the same housing unit. They had to haul water from a well, and using outdoor toliet facilities. Everything was communal. Jobs were asigned, you didn't have a choice in the type of work you wanted, but were told what work you must perform. Today, her family lives a little better, but there is still the stimga, of the past, that lingers in their mind. Somehow, their FAITH in the LORD, got them trough the darkest days of Russian History. It's true, that the former USSR was a communist country. We still see communisn alive in many parts of the world. Socialism is just a stepping stone, which leads to this type of dictaorship.

Our National Day of Prayer, was started to remind American's how much the LORD GOD has BLESSED our Nation. It is a day set apart, to recognize the LORD and all HE has done for us personally and as a nation. I didn't mention that there is a free e-book offered if you do sign the petition. It is called: "The Case for America's Christian Heritage, Part 1" by Gary Demar. After reading it, I plan on using parts of it in my grandson's homeschool Bible Study and as part of his Social Studies on the foundation of America.

Now, I know many of you do not believe that America is on a fast track to becoming a socialistic country. I do believe we are though. Just knowing what lies ahead, should scare most people straight. Yet, many are beling blind sighted, to the TRUTH. If you haven't sighed this petition, please reconsider and pray about it. Do we want America to go through, what those people in the foremer USSR did? If it happend to them, it could easily happen to us.
