    Damascus Empty Damascus

Isaiah 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. 2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. 3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts. 4 And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.

Song of Solomon 7:4 Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus.

Jeremiah 49:24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.

Jeremiah 49:27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.

Isaiah 7:8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people. 9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.

As I was reading this passage, the question popped into my mind about the threescore and 5 years. What is threescore and five equal?

I believe "three score" is 60 years, so "three score and five" would be 65 years. study

Thank you. That is the number I came up with also. I was thinking about when Israel became a nation, in 1948.

This being 2008, means that Israel has been a nation for 60 years.

    2008-1948=60

Very interesting....because that was my first thought also. Israel became a nation in 1948.

    1948 plus 65 would be 2013.

Makes the scripture you posted more interesting.

**I'm not date setting anything just saying it is interesting.
