John 16:29-30 King James Version (KJV)
29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

John 16:29-30 New International Version (NIV)

29 Then Jesus’ disciples said, “Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech. 30 Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

29 Jesus had spoke in a way that they would have had to focus on His words to understand, He did often take time to explain it to the disciples. They were starting to hear Him clearly, I don’t think it was just the way He spoke but also their hearts were changing.

30 They understood who He truly is. God alone knows all things, them saying this is them understanding His divine nature. They were starting to understand but they still hadn’t fully understood. Jesus came from God but wasn’t just like another of the prophets. Even though He don’t need us to ask Him, He wants us to and we need to ask Him.
